On-site chair massage

Chair massage is a brief stress reducing massage, given in a comfortable supportive chair. The portable massage chair is supplied by our massage practitioner, and can easily be set up in nearly any location.

A typical chair massage session: last about 15 minutes, uses no oil, and is applied directly through the clothing. It addresses tension in the upper body, such as neck, back, shoulders, hands and arms.

Chair massage is a great addition to an employee health and wellness program. It is also a great way to celebrate an employee appreciation day, or birthday at the office! Maybe you’re running a new promotion to boost sales. Chair massage can easily adapt to nearly any situation.

It is very easy to implement, and the benefits far out-weigh the cost:  A brief massage has been shown to reduce stress and muscle tension, the major contributors to chronic pain and repetitive stress injuries. It has also been shown to increase the alertness, and memory retention, by increasing circulation and calming the nervous system.

If you would like to learn a more about how chair massage can work for you, we would be happy to meet with you, and provide a free chair massage demonstration.

Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage is the technique of applying oil onto the skin and working it smoothly and slowly over the muscles. The pressure, flow and application for each session is customized for specific needs of our client.
You can choose a full body massage or request work on just a specific
area, such as neck and shoulders, or legs and feet.

The movements of the therapist’s hands help to increase circulation, and stimulate all of your body's systems.  This process promotes a replenishing of fresh nutrients throughout your body and helps to remove toxins from these tissues.

Decreased pain and tension results from normalized circulation. The release of the body’s own pain killers (endorphins) also occurs. Tight muscles loosen and the nerves calm down. Leaving you with a feeling of total relaxation.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is a type of therapeutic massage that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. Though there are many similarities between the two, there is a distinct difference between swedish and deep tissue massage. Many of the same strokes are used as in swedish massage, but the movement is slower and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain.

Some clients may feel tender or sore mucsles the day or two following a deep tissue massage. This is a normal reaction to deep tissue massage, especialy if your body is not used to the treatments. Drinking plenty of water, especially after your session, can help to reduce the pain, and help to flush out any impurities released during your massage.

Deep tissue massage is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders.

Hot Stone Massage

Hot stone massage is a variation on swedish massage. Heated smooth, flat stones are placed on key points on the body. The massage therapist may also hold the stones and use them to massage certain areas of the body. Many people find the warmth of the hot stones to be comforting and get it for relaxation. Hot stone massage is suited to people who tend to feel chilly or who have cold feet. It's also suited for people who have muscle tension but prefer a lighter massage. The heat relaxes muscles, allowing the therapist to work the muscles without using deep pressure.

People also get hot stone massage for a variety of health conditions:

  • Back pain and aches
  • Poor circulation
  • Osteoarthritis and arthritis pain
  • Stress, anxiety and tension
  • Insomnia
  • Depression
  • Low Blood Pressure
  • Cold Extremeties
  • Recovering from injury and illness

Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is the practice of using volatile plant oils, including essential oils, for psychological and physical well-being. Essential oils that are inhaled into the lungs offer both psychological and physical benefits.

Not only does the aroma of the natural essential oil stimulate the brain to trigger a reaction, but when inhaled into the lungs, the natural constituents (naturally occurring chemicals) can supply therapeutic benefit.  For instance, diffusing eucalyptus essential oil to help ease congestion, or using lavender to inrease the relaxation effects of your massage session.

there is no up-charge for applying aromatherapy to your massage therapy session, Simply ask and we will find an aromatherpy application to fit your needs.
